Can the Imam Prolong Ruku’ So Latecomers Catch the Rak‘ah?
Answer:
No. Evidence in Bukhari (635), prohibits that some Companions rushed noisily to join prayer. The Prophetﷺ did not delay prayer for them.
Instead he said: “Come calmly. What you catch, pray. What you miss, complete after.”
So: Imam should not delay Ruku’ waiting for people.
He performs normally.If they catch it, fine.If not, they complete later.
He cannot keep extending indefinitely — people may keep on coming. Prayer should be proceeded normally.
