Quran says that Prophetﷺ Isa performed certain miracles. Where is it mentioned? It is mentioned in Quran 3:49 and 5:110.
It states that Prophetﷺ Isa (Alaihis Salam) performed many miracles. When asked what one of those miracles was, it says: “Indeed, I will create from clay the form of a bird; I will shape it, and then I will blow into it, and by Allah ﷻ’s permission it will become a bird.” It is mentioned that Prophetﷺ Isa spoke like this to his community.
The same matter appears where Allah ﷻ speaks about Prophetﷺ Isa in 5:110.
It says: “O Isa, you will make from clay the shape of a bird. You must do it only with My command and permission. You will blow into it by My command, and it will become a bird.”
Allah ﷻ tells Isa that He granted him this miracle. These two verses speak about this. What does it mention? He would prepare the shape of a bird. When we say bird, it means he would shape clay like a crane, and when he blew into it, it would become like a crane. Or he could shape clay like a parrot. He must have been skilled in craftsmanship. Just as potters shape clay into various forms, Prophetﷺ Isa had the ability to shape forms out of clay.
He would make shapes like a peacock, and if he shaped it, it would look exactly like a peacock. Then he would blow into it, and it would become a peacock. So when he says, “I will create like a bird,” it means he would look at an existing bird and shape clay like that. But what do they do? Listen to the audio story they narrate. They say, “Let us briefly see how the bat was created during Prophetﷺ Isa’s time.” When did this supposedly happen? People asked Prophetﷺ Isa for proof of his Prophetﷺhood and asked him to create a very strange bird. The conditions they gave were unusual. They asked for a bird without feathers, that gives birth instead of laying eggs, that has teeth, that laughs like humans, and that sleeps hanging upside down.
Secondly, they say Prophetﷺ Isa accepted this challenge. He mixed clay and water, shaped it, and when he blew into it, by Allah ﷻ’s power a bat came alive with all the characteristics they asked for. Finally, did everyone believe it after seeing it? No. Some believed, but many rejected it. The important thing, they say, is that this bat is the only living being created by Allah ﷻ’s permission due to human demand, and that is why its lifestyle is so different from other birds. In summary, they say the central idea is how an ordinary human request resulted in the creation of a new living creature by Allah ﷻ’s permission.
In that audio(question), they say Allah ﷻ asked Prophetﷺ Isa to create a creature and described how it should be, including that it should give birth and other characteristics. They claim he created it accordingly. They say the bat was first created during Prophetﷺ Isa’s time and did not exist before. They claim that among Allah ﷻ’s creations, bats did not exist until Isa created them first. But this is fabricated.
Where did they take this from? They say someone asked Prophetﷺ Isa — who asked him? Where is it mentioned? In which hadith book is it stated that he created a bat? If such an event happened, Allah ﷻ or the Messenger must say it. When did the Prophetﷺ say this? He never said anything about this. It is completely false and fabricated.
In some tafsir books, it is casually mentioned that the bird might have been a bat, but there is no authentic evidence. Tafsir writers sometimes write based on assumptions. Apart from such mentions, where did they dig out such fabricated religious stories and spread them just for likes and shares? If it concerns religion, there must be evidence. When speaking about Allah ﷻ and Prophetﷺ Isa and Qur’anic verses, should there not be fear of Allah ﷻ’s punishment if it is false? Without such fear, they spread whatever someone has written somewhere.
All this happens because of the craze for reels. If they post interesting stories for reels, many people will spread them. There is no evidence for this anywhere. What is understood from the Qur’anic verse is that he created forms like existing birds. He would not create a completely non-existent bird and then give it life. Since birds already existed, he shaped clay like those birds. If bats existed, he could have shaped something like a bat. He could have shaped sparrows, cranes, or any flying bird and then blown into them with Allah ﷻ’s permission, and they would become birds. So he created forms like existing birds. The verse does not say he created a completely new species never before created.
The verse clearly says: “You will shape from clay in the likeness of a bird.” That means in the likeness of an already existing bird. When the Qur’an clearly says this, they twist it and claim Prophetﷺ Isa first created the bat, as if to create a difference between Allah ﷻ’s creation and human creation. Humans did not create it; Allah ﷻ created it. Even if it is said Prophetﷺ Isa created the form of a bird, he did so only with Allah ﷻ’s permission. He created nothing independently. Therefore, bats, like all other creatures, are Allah ﷻ’s creation. There is no evidence that bats did not exist until Prophetﷺ Isa’s time. It is false information they are spreading.
